Grass Fed lamb now available

Born in April this year, our Lleyn lambs will be ready over the next few months.

IMG_0610 (1)These wonderful lambs have fed solely on mum’s milk and grass, no cereals, no concentrates. At this young age they should be incredibly delicate in flavour and tender. After weaning their diet moves solely to grass and the flavour continues to develop.

The cost of a whole lamb is about £250 or £130 for a half lamb including delivery. The price can vary slightly to reflect any increased delivery and butchery costs.

They will be available on a first come first serve basis, orders being taken now for delivery September, October and November.

The weight of a lamb to slaughter will be approx. 45-48kg. This will be slightly bigger than a supermarket lamb, chops more like the size you’d see in the butchers.

A whole lamb weight after slaughter and butchering will leave you with approx. 18-20Kg of meat. A half lamb will be approx. 8-9kg meat, depending on initial carcase weight.

A whole lamb arrives butchered, will fit comfortably into most household freezers and will include the following free-range grass fed cuts of meat (half lamb will be half of this!)

  • lambcuts12 x Legs of Lamb on the bone
  • 2 x Shoulders of Lamb on the bone
  • 2 x Whole Loins butchered to include the following cuts:
  • 10 -12 x Cutlets
  • 8-10 x Loin Chops
  • 4 x Lamb steaks
  • 2 x 500g packs of mince
